Our 65th Anniversary
A Message from our CEO
2017 marks Kawartha Credit Union's 65th Anniversary and another successful year for our credit union. Kawartha was started by a committed group of people who believed there was a need for a better way of doing banking. Members have always been at the heart of what we do. Together we have grown our credit union into a profitable contender in the financial services sector. Times have changed but our focus has not. We look forward to serving our loyal members with excellence for many years to come. - Robert Wellstood, Chief Executive Officer
Celebrating 65 Years
We owe our success to our members…without you, we wouldn't have grown and achieved the success we enjoy today. We invite our members to join us in celebrating our 65th anniversary in all of our 25 branches on March 9th. To commemorate our anniversary and thank our loyal members, we will be serving cake and distributing commemorative giveaways.
Kawartha Credit Union (formerly CANGECO credit union) was started in 1952 by employees of the Maintenance and Repair Department of Canadian General Electric in Peterborough. From its humble beginnings, it’s grown to 25 branches across Ontario with $1.4 Billion in assets. To view a timeline of our history, click here.
